Do either of these have any metal on the underside of on the buckle that touches the skin? I have a SEVERE nickel allergy and can't wear most watches

@Hostalady Great to see you on the forums!

I was able to find this information in Inspire manual, in regard to the materials it contains:

"The housing on Inspire is plastic. The Inspire classic band is made of a premium, comfortable silicone similar to that used in many sport watches, and the buckle is made of anodized aluminum. While anodized aluminum can contain traces of nickel, which can cause an allergic reaction in someone with nickel sensitivity, the amount of nickel in all Fitbit products meets the European Union's stringent Nickel Directive."

The housing and buckle on Versa are made of anodized aluminum.

Hope this helps! If you have additional questions you know where to find me. Robot Happy

What about the materials in the sensors? My wife has a severe mental allergy, not just to nickel.

Or are the sensors not touching the skin?

@philkonstan The sensor does touch the skin, it would need to to properly track heart rate.  I don't know what material the sensors are made out.  The Inspire does not have the heart rate sensors, so that might be a better option for your wife.  You can also purchase a clip for the Inspire (not HR) separately so she can wear it on her belt buckle instead of her wrist if she's that severely allergic.

I have a nickel allergy and have been through most of the fitbits, I found the fitbit iconia button set off the allergy and the buckle just slightly. I had the same issue with the charges, then I got the inspire which I had no allergic reaction to at all, but had it replaced via fitbit and via store due to the screen going off for days then suddenly reappearing, the last time I exchanged it for the fitbit inspire Hr lilac which is lovely. I've had no reaction at all to the sensor which is great, but the buckle! My wrist is red raw where the buckle is so it will set off an allergy. If it could be replaced with the strap of the inspire non Hr then it would be perfect.

@Dorydebby, did you manage to fix the nyckel allergy issue with the Inspire HR? I'm trying to find alternative hypoallergenic straps but no luck so fa

Since the last message I have used this new strap that was only 6.99 from amazon with no problems at all it's been great and apart from the screen randomly going blank it's nice that I can wear the fitbit day and night with absolutely no itching, rashes or marks!
