Just received a Fitbit Inspire for Father’s Day and went through the setup. Asked to update as part of the setup process and that failed saying the battery needed to be charged. At that point it just had a line across the screen. I plugged it in overnight and woke up to it completely blank and won’t power on. ☹️

I returned and got a new one that works great. Before I tried setting it up this time I plugged it in to let it charge for a while first.

If it was bought locally i would return it for another. If bought from the Fitbit website you will need to contact support.
