I have spent at least 6-8 hours over the last few months trying to get my Inspire to sync properly and do it every day. Tried the Win 10 app on my new laptop, old android phone, new LG phone, Kindle Fire HD. also cannot get any notifications to work ever.
only connected to one of the devices, works for a few days and then the dreaded "can't find the device". Finally dragged out the dongle from my Alta and for 2 weeks the Inspire was syncing every day. then 10 days ago, it stopped syncing. Every day it does not sync I lose points in my company health and wellness program where I earn points to lower my health insurance costs for reach certain levels, plus gift card rewards.
I can't connect to the Inspire to update the firmware either. I was so excited when I saw I could get this using points in my wellness program and it is such a disappointment. I can't get a refund or a replacement so it's pretty much useless to me.
I've tried every tip and instruction I read hear and no luck. This is my 4th Fitbit: the Zip, the recalled one (nickel) Alta, Inspire and I have never had this much trouble getting one to work.
I put the Inspire away and went back to my 3 year old Alta. I am retiring next year and can use my Inspire then as syncing will not matter as the health and wellness plan will no longer be an option.

It works to sync but i have to place the fitbit very close to the dongle to get it to see it. Amazingly enough you don't get to do things like changing clock face if you access the fitbit screen using a dongle. Talk about lazy programming.

Thanks for getting back to us @scardellicchio and @Bill_k. I'll be glad to assist you with your syncing issues inquiry. Thank you for your comments and for the detailed information regarding this.
@scardellicchio , please try instructions from help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and make sure that you're using a compatible device.
@Bill_k, thank you for your feedback.
Keep on visiting the forum.

This is interesting - are you saying that if I have a Fitbit dongle (that came with my Fitbit Zip tracker way back in 2014) connected to my laptop that my new Fitbit Inspire HR is actually trying to connect to my laptop app through the dongle? If that is the case and I remove the dongle will it simply connect through my blue-tooth connection? You see, I ask because I have struggled with updating, pairing and syncing my new (well, I call it new, but I have had it for a month now - a month of struggles I might add) ever since I received the Inspire HR on July 29, 2019. Of course, if this is what you are saying then I may be able to resolve some updating, pairing and syncing issues via my laptop but that will not resolve the issues I have trying to update, pair and sync on my IOS device. Also, to note - Fitbit support has been terribly unsuccessful in helping resolve this issue - they have sent replacement pebbles but those fail also. Last correspondence with support pretty much left the impression that I should just return it to Amazon for a refund and move on with life.

Ditto...I've been trying to get my Inspire to sync for several days. I'm traveling with a Laptop and my Inspire hasn't synced since August 16. I have followed all instructions. I do not believe FitBit Connect is on my Laptop even though Ihave removed and downloaded the app again. Something is wrong when a Windows 10 system won't connect -- I know it's just me, I'm old enough to remember CPM but am still computer illiterate.

@FrankGalusha2 - This is the most confounding issue because I can't seem to get support to understand the issue. they repeat the same steps to take over and over and over again. It didn't work the first eight times we tried so why do they want me to try it again? Odd thing is, I can actually get both my Inspire and my Zip to sync to my iPad (and that uploads to both my website dashboard as well as the Windows 10 app), but EVERY single time I sync I also get a notice in red telling me the sync failed. If the data changed then I don't understand where the fail comes in. I guess the simplest solution would be to sync to my iPad and delete the laptop app, but the laptop app is what I used from 2014 until this last month when I decided to try the Inspire (for the sleep tracking) and I know the laptop app will send me low battery notification for my zip, but I'm not sure if the iPad app will. I guess I can always delete the laptop app and just wait and see if the iPad app does or if the Zip just dies of a dead battery one day.
But still, it is very annoying getting the red notices (on BOTH the laptop app and the iPad app) saying the sync failed.

Almira in Support told me; 1. Download the APP from the store not the online version as it doesn't have sync option to my iPhone 6SE not the laptop with Windows 10. For that I will need to buy a Dongle. iPhone worked and i am SYNCING.iwill checkout the price of a dongle. It is another part to lug. this info NOT FOUND UNDER HELP TO MY KNOWLEDGE. WHY NOT????

So I used the Alta for a few months. A few weeks ago I tried to set up the Inspire again. Deleted the Alta, set up the Inspire on my LG phone which is not a supported device, attached it to my laptop and even was able to update the firmware which I had been unable to do in April. Has been working seemlessly for 2 weeks. It's syncing on the phone app, and to my company health and wellness program which is very important to me. Notifications are working too, which never did before.
Fingers crossed it keeps working.
