Lost steps when syncing (replacing Versa)

It is so annoying that an Inspire and a Versa cannot be on an account at the same time. Be that as it may, what happened to me today was REALLY annoying; I’ll try to explain it so it makes sense to see if anyone has a solution.

This morning when I got up I removed my Versa, which had accumulated 444 steps after midnight last night. Wanting to switch to my Inspire (worn on my waistband, with a clip, because I wanted a hidden tracker today) I synced my Versa and then put on the Inspire for the day. This evening, after accumulating 6000+ steps on my Inspire, I added my Inspire to my account which, of course, meant that the Versa was deleted. I assumed that when I added the Inspire, the app would add the 6,000+ steps from the Inspire to the 444 from the Versa, on both the app and the Inspire tracker. It did neither. Instead, it knocked the steps on the Inspire tracker down to the 444 that were on the app from syncing the Versa this morning.....and the app stayed at 444 as well. So......I lost over 6,000 steps by adding my Inspire to my account; I assumed it would just sync everything up across the board, but it didn’t.

Yes, I restarted the Inspire....about five times. No change.

This is beyond annoying! Fitbit, can’t you fix it so I can have both a Versa AND an Inspire on my account at the same time? I bought the Inspire to replace my Alta when it died, because sometimes I want a tracker I can wear hidden in a clip. I had no idea I couldn’t have both of these on my account at the same time.

I'm really sorry but you need to sync both of them before replacing one of them

The way you should have done it would have been to add the Inspire to the account right after you synced the Versa and wanted the Inspire steps to start counting.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I guess I need to remember to do it that way next time. I assumed the sync would work both ways (meaning both from the tracker to the app and vice versa) but obviously I was wrong. It would be a lot easier if I could just have both trackers on the account at the same time. I know we can’t have two “smart watches” at the same time (but I don’t know why not) but the Inspire is hardly what I would consider a smart watch.
