Now what?

I bought a fitbit Inspire HR, and saw that it is compatible with Android devices.  What I did not realise until I have received it, is that it is not compatible with my Huawei P9 Lite. Is there a different way that I can still make use of it? Helpful advice required, please!

I don't think there is a way round the problem with the phone as fitbit say:

"Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent certain devices, like Fitbit devices, from syncing, our products aren't compatible with the following phones:

• Huawei P8 Lite
• Huawei P9 Lite
• Xiaomi Mi 6"

Do you have access to a Windows computer? The manual says:

"For the best experience, use the Fitbit app for iPhones and iPads or Android
phones. You can also set up Inspire HR on Windows 10 devices. If you don’t have a
compatible phone or tablet, use a Bluetooth-enabled Windows 10 PC. Keep in mind
that a phone is required for call, text, calendar, and smartphone app notifications. "

If you can use a Windows 10 computer to set up your fitbit and use it now and then to sync then you should still be able to use your phone to see your data as it was when it last synced.

So I downloaded the software, and found that my current Bluetooth was not suitable for the connection, so I went out and bought the required new low energy Bluetooth dongle.  I set it up, and found that my pc could see my fitbit, but my fitbit did not respond accordingly... does this mean that I must now get a specific fitbit syncronising dongle?  Why would my new bluetooth not work if my pc can see my fitbit? 

Any further advice would be most appreciated.

There are two ways of using Windows 10. You can download the fitbit app from the Microsoft store and this should work with most bluetooth dongles or a computer's inbuilt bluetooth. Or, you can download the Fitbit Connect software and use that to setup and sync a fitbit. However, Fitbit Connect will only work with the Fitbit wireless dongle.
