Tracking gym cardio no steps

I'm tired of doing a gym cardio class while tracking tracking it as Workout and later go on to the Web, my dashboard, and add a Driving activity with the same start time and duration as the cardio class just to delete all the steps that were miscounted.

What activity can I track right from my Inspire 2 to track a gym cardio class while NOT counting steps?

@JoaoB   This is a real aggravating limitation of wrist worn fitness trackers.  The accelerometer sees what it sees.  Every user will have both over- and under-counted steps.  You will get these steps in your workout, but won't get steps pushing a shopping cart.

If you wear your Fitbit on your non-dominant wrist, you can reduce the overcount by changing the wrist setting to Dominant.  This will reduce, but won't eliminate extra steps.  But my best advice is to accept that a Fitbit isn't a scientific instrument and stop micromanaging the step count.  Things tend to balance each other out.
