Using Fitbit without an account for research study

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am using the Inspire 2 Fitbit for a research study internationally in a remote setting. I have 20 of the devices, we are most interested in using the device for heart rate measurement and also maybe energy expenditure and sleep. I will be reusing the devices with 100 different agricultural workers.

The problem I'm running into is the fact that it seems to demand I link the device to an email address and a unique phone number. However, it won't let me use my own email / phone number more than a couple of times - and I have 20. Is there any way to get these devices to function without an account linked? Even if I were to use fake email addresses, I still seem to need a unique phone number.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. I tried reaching out to the research team at Fitbit a couple of times but never heard anything back.

Hi @LyndsayK  we're the community forums and you'd still need customer support.

here are the support contacts I've gleaned over the years on the forums.

when there is someone available, chat is an option. Phone or Twitter works well, too.

LyndsayK, Did you find any solutions to this issue? My team has run into the same problems and have found no solutions through calling, emailing, or chatting.
