I just got my fitbit a few days ago. when I turn it on it was saying I burn 1548 calories and every time I move my arm it counts steps. This is my second fitbit within a month giving me false information, i'm definitely returning this and getting me a apple watch because fitbit sucks!!!!!!!!

I think you may not be taking into account your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings so are different for each person but as mine is 1440 per day, yours doesn't sound that false.

Thanks for responding, But it was telling me that when I first turn it on without wearing it. Like yesterday and this morning it saying my step counts was 219 and my calories was 420 and it was on the charger doing the time. I'm not going to waste my money and time on something that continues to give me false information.

The BMR calories are calculated purely from your profile settings so you don't need to be wearing it for them to be tracked. See: Help article: How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?

The incorrect steps are a bit more of an issue. Steps are tracked by detecting movement of the fitbit (i.e. your wrist) and then deciding whether that was the result of a step or just random arm movement. It's not a precise science and fitbits (and any other wrist worn tracker) sometimes get it wrong. Here's what fitbit have to say about it: Help article: How accurate are Fitbit trackers?
