This slit (or slot) houses both the speaker and the microphone. This interface allows you to interact with the assistant feature included on the Fitbit Versa 3. The latest version of Fitbit operating system has in-built support for a speaker and a microphone as a way to be compatible with voice assistant apps, namely, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
