Alexa Not Responding

Alexa doesn't respond when started. Tried restarting, logging out, re-syncing.. nothing works!

There is no error message, when Alexa is started the app says "listening"
and then shows a list of suggested requests.. it doesn't pick up my voice.

@ChrisMilly let's check if the microphone is turned on. 

Swipe to settings, tap settings, swipe up to microphone, and tap if not enabled.

I can ask Alexa questions, but after that I just see: "thinking...". I got an answer maybe twice or so in 3 weeks, and I am not speaking Chinese.
