Any Versas Working Correctly?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Got the black screen of death yesterday and my watch was only one day old. Now reading these forums I see sooo many people are having many different problems with their Versa. Curious if anyone has had a Versa that has NOT had any problems? Trying to decide if I should exchange this or just return it.... Don’t want to waste time exchanging if there’s no chance of getting one that actually works.

Right? This is my 4th Fitbit. I'm replacing the Blaze after batteries issues and to now to have a Vera working great for three weeks and then hold a charge for only 24hr. The things is it was fine and then bam. Very very odd.

I went through 2 and finally just returned it and got something else. To be honest, it was good while it lasted but just like that...all of a sudden it stopped working or a feature doesn’t work. So I didn’t want to waste anymore time, I made the decision to just return it and get another brand.

I've had my Versa for a few weeks now and all seems to be working fine. The only issue I have is switching between the Versa and Ionic, but that's more of a limitation and for another discussion.

I've had mine for about 6 weeks and it's working perfectly.

I was finally able to put music on my versa, which was quite the ordeal.  Ever since I did that and then connected my bluetooth headset it won't give me notifications anymore.

No problems at all with mine. Putting my music on was a breeze (I did learn how to do it on the Ionic!) and everything working as expected. I think it is a little more liberal in the step counting than the Ionic, but I havent got around to doing a step test yet. My Ionic is pretty spot on for steps.

Versa is my second Fitbit this year (Vue stopped working after a few months) and have only had it for 3 weeks but already having problems with it not syncing steps. I have also noticed that it needs charging every other day now rather than every 4+ days when I got it but thought that was me checking info too often but, after reading a few messages, it seems that it is not just me! It synced everything but steps today but says that it has not been synced since last night, so after 2 hours of trying to figure out why and doing what has been suggested to sort the problem out, I am giving up on it…

I tried the Versa twice and returned both.  I learned long ago to buy Fitbits locally so they can be returned quickly.  One died overnight, never to be revived and the last one did not last 10 minutes in the pool.

I had several issues right away setting it up and then it worked fine for about 6 weeks, and now on Sunday it stopped connecting to bluetooth. I've done everything in the help article and still having issues. Getting ready to call FitBit and see if I can get a replacement sent. I'm not happy. I had a blaze that worked fine for 2+ years, if there are this many issues they need to start working on a fix and send some updates to the watch.

Mine is working well. It's new - about 2 1/2 weeks since I got it.

Mine has worked fine until this morning. It was fine when I first synced it after waking up but an hour later the screen was blank and won't light up. I've restarted it several times and you can turn it off and back on since the screen is black. This is the first time I've had issues with mine and I've had it for several months. I'm going to switch to my Charge 2 because not being able to see my steps throughout the day doesn't work for me.

I have only had mine for about 2 weeks, but mine is working fine. But I only use it for steps and exercising. I don't use any other features like music, weather, etc.

I've had mine for a little over a week now.  First I had sync issues... turns out it didn't like being Bluetooth to an iPad and a Samsung.  Once I turned off the iPad, I got my notifications just fine.  Weather app rarely works for me.  Tells me to sync it with the app, I do and it still doesn't work. I've done that a few times and I have charged it etc. still not working.

My main problem is the step count is off.  I have been a faithful user of the Fitbit ONE.  I liked it on my hip. I wore it constantly until about 2 years ago.  I still have it but I wanted a simple HR monitor since I was getting back into shape. After the first couple of days I thought the step count was odd. Especially after spending an hour in the grocery store and it claimed I only walked about 300 steps. Turns out if I am pushing a shopping cart, it doesn't record steps. I charged my old ONE up and compared. Some days I was off by 1500 steps or more, some days I was only off by about 700-800 steps.

Today I tried to test it on the treadmill.  ONE again recorded more steps but my Versa rebooted twice.  Is there an issue when it's near a treadmill trying to calculate your HR?  Either that or I somehow triggered a reboot with my wrist.  Not sure how that happened.  So I will have to test it again tomorrow.  I got about 4500 steps on my ONE and about 3000 on my Versa.  Hard to tell the true numbers since it rebooted on me but I doubt I walked 1500 steps during that time.  Adding the times up on the workouts, I'm only off by 3 minutes.

I really want to like the Versa.  I like getting the notifications.  I haven't even tried downloading music yet.

The Alta HR was on Amazon Prime Day so I ordered it to test next. I figured why not.

Glad to hear some are having success! Ended up exchanging my Versa at Best Buy and so far so good with the new one. I will post again if I have any problems with “Versa the 2nd”. Since the first one died so quickly, however, I decided to get the extended 2 year warranty from Best Buy just in case. I really don’t want to deal with Fitbit to exchange this later on down the road as I’ve read on these forums that is a lengthy and not so fun process.

I thought for a minute I'd jinxed things. Shortly after I wrote how mine was working well, it stopped syncing. It didn't take too long to remember that I'd turned on a portable phone (landline style now used for voip). That interference was enough. Turned off the portable phone and unplugged it and the sync went through without a hitch.

So I'll modify my comment but only slightly. Bluetooth connections on the Versa can be quite sensitive to interference. If you allow for that, the Versa is terrific 🙂

Well… my Versa finally decided to start counting and syncing steps again late yesterday, after 2 hours of trying to get it to sync in the morning. I continued to wear it during the day and tried syncing it to my iPhone every now and again. It's working OK today - so far!  I use it mainly for steps, sleep and exercise; I have also never got the weather app to work and I haven't even attempted to add music. Interesting comment about Versa not counting steps when you are pushing a shopping trolley, so I will be checking that next time!

I hope it continues to work, as it's easy to use…

My first Fitbit Versa had a battery problem.. i exchanged it

since then.. to be honest.. i never take it off other then charging every 4 days
I go in the pool daily

I do my exercise.. jogs and walk and it works fine

the sleep tracking is a problem but they are working on it.. and i am sure it is now software.
If the watch tracks it properly then it is not hardware.. they will fix it..
I expect that when the sleep tracking works.. i will buy one for my wife..

ohhh and watch out.. the versa is made really really cheap with the worst of material.
Band is bad.. Sceen gets scratch and broken easily
I bought new bands on amazon which i love and i got nice screen protector that i need to change regularly

To be honest. if it was to redo.. I would have kept my Charge longer.. I feel that my versa wont last a full year.. before i break it

and fitbit is useless on their cheaply made in china watch..
