Anyone know if this is in the pipeline? I have an Android Handset and would love to see this going forward.

@FancyTatts Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Do you mean something like a Fitbit watch with mobile service (so it can work independent from a cellphone)? This is a great idea that can be shared in our Feature suggestions board. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it. As far as I know there isn't a device like this so please share it and hopefully many other members will vote for it.
