Auto screen wake not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have the special edition versa and my auto screen wake no longer works when I turn my wrist? I now have to touch the screen or push the buttons.

How can this be fixed? I have already tried to reset it 3 times but still no luck.

Could it have been accidentally disabled? If you press and hold the left button for a couple of seconds you go to the quick settings where you can turn "screen wake" to auto or manual ( you may need to swipe left / right to see that setting)

Just got my Versa yesterday and I'm having the same issue. Auto screen wake is activated but no matter how dramatic or normal my wrist movements, the screen doesn't wake. Didn't happen with my Blaze like that so I am familiar with the auto wake... help!

Thank you!

In my case, "accidentally" meant toddler-interference 🙂

Isn't it amazing how toddlers can find button combinations in seconds when it takes us hours to find them!

I haven't got my TV back to normal since a visit from a 3 year old a few weeks back.

I have that problem from time to time and it seems random. Sometimes no movement can make it wake up, but then a minute later it will be working like normal again.  It must be a software thing.

Holding the Left button and setting to Auto, is the trick.

I've had to reset my fitbit several times to factory settings, since getting it back in June 2018, this is the first time I had to find this setting. This should be in the main settings, not hidden.

Thanks for the help finding this!

Hi, you have to do two things to get it working again:

1. As stated before, press and hold the left button for a few secs untill the activity screen appears. When screen is, accidentally or not, set to manually, press it and it will switch to automatic.

2. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons untill you see the Fitbit logo. When you have seen that, release the buttons.

After that it should work again. Good luck.

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image).
  2. Tap or click your device image.
  3. Find an option to turn off Quick View.

My new versa arrived today, and I can't get it to light up consistently either. It will work if I hold it under a light though. very frustrating! Screen wake is on Auto, Notifications on. Thinking about returning it....

I put a new watch band on today and accidentally disabled that function. Thankfully I got the answer quickly from these posts. Thanks Fitbit Community.

Your post was older but the first thing I found when googling. Thanks! Somehow I must’ve switched to manual wake. Also solved the mystery of why I wasn’t getting notifications either!

Same here, it's set to auto but I have to tap it couple of times to wake up, otherwise it just makes the b/w screen a little more brighter.
