Bad math

Versa 2, known and accurate stride length x number of strides taken (steps x2), ends up with highly exaggerated total mileage. Not a GPS issue. Treadmill or ground trail, 1.5km keeps telling me it is 2.6 or more. Running is worse.

For Ftbit's calculations, 1 stride = 1 step.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

According to Fitbit help desk. A step is a step right heel to left heel. A stride is heel to same heel.

@Cplcanuck the Fitbit app has a long-term issue with confusing miles and km. The app is taking the 1.5 km that you walked and changing it to 1.5 miles. Then, it converts 1.5 miles to about 2.4 km.

This has been going on for years and I haven't seen any indication that it is ever going to be fixed. Sorry, but I don't have a solution.
