Better than Blaze?

Hey all, anyone upgrade to Versa from Blaze?

I was an early Blaze adopter and Notifications to Move NEVER worked and it doesn't look like Fitbit is ever going to fix it. I'm worried about jumping on the Versa because after buying the first run of Flex and Blaze, I'm worried about quality.

Any advice appreciated!!

I upgraded from Charge, Charge HR to Blaze, and last month to Versa. Technically Versa is much better than Blaze -- if it works. With the syncing issues (nonstop "looking," "sync" and "connect" -- and not connecting long enough to register HR and to sleep data), countless resets and factory resets that don't fix anything, the Versa is basically useless compared to my trusty Blaze, which I am wearing now waiting for a Versa fix. Yes, I'm still holding out for a real fix but my return window is ending soon.

Btw, I'm also an early adopter of Blaze - got it the day it was released. It works flawlessly - no issue with notifications to move.

Thank you so much!!

This is my concern - sounds like you got luckier than me on the Blaze (support told me my problem was only with a certain group of users)... but maybe not on the Versa. Honestly, if I were you, I'd return it. I waited too long on the Blaze and the fix to the Notifications issue has yet to come and I'm stuck.

I think I will get a Versa, but maybe I'll wait a bit. I really do love a lot of the new functionality and it's super cute as well. Thanks for your candid reply!! Best of luck sorting out your bugs 🙂

My wife went from a Charge 2 to a Ionic and loved it much more as I did the same as well. She then went from the Ionic to the Versa as she wanted something that would fit her wrists and she loves it and works perfectly. No issues at all. HR tracking and sleep tracking as well as steps count is spot on.

I didn’t go from a blaze to a Versa, I actually went to an ionic first and then realised it was just FAR too big for my little wrists, so switched to the Versa. It’s beautifully light on the wrist, and for me there have been no problems at all, battery life is good, around 4 days easily, and being able to do things like track water from my wrist, thanks to third party apps is amazing! I love it. Having music storage is brilliant for those days when I just want to go for a walk or something! 🙂 also, connected gps on a 30 minute run reduced my battery by 1% which I think is incredible, the ionic would have lost 10-12% 😅

My husband has the Blaze and I have Versa. He is not interested in trading up and sees nothing exciting about Versa. However, his Blaze is working without any kind of issue. If you are having issues, you might like a (working) Versa much more.

i've gone from flex to charge to charge hr to blaze to ionic to versa

Every iteration Fitbit has brought out.. i've been happier and happier. Versa has the look i really love with all the blaze/ionic touchscreen stuff inside and now you can take it swimming... so splashing water on it is no problem. I hated the Blaze design, it didn't fit my wrist properly and it was bulky... but loved the features. Same is true with the Ionic... bulky... but the Versa... fits my hand great and it looks good on there.

I may be in the minority on here... but i haven't had any trouble at all with my Versa (*Knock on wood* *cross fingers*) Even the last firmware update came through smooth as butter.

I feel when you read all these forums, all you hear are all the complaints.... because let's face it.. for the most part... if your Versa (or any other fitbit device for that matter) worked as it should without trouble, you wouldn't be on these help forums... so take that into consideration as well.

I say go for it, but keep your blaze... give it a try and put it through its paces but give it a chance to download to the right firmware before complaining it doesnt work... Most places you buy from has a return policy so if you truly don't like it... return it and put your blaze back on... simple

Spot on you couldn't have said it any better. I am addicted to my Ionic. I have large wrists so it is the wright choice for me. I love the sleep app as well as the resting heart rate tracking. I think those two things alone are worth every penny. I also have the Aria 2 scale and it sure is nice to track my bodyfat % and also track the sleep and resting heart rate. When you look at all 3 of those in a graph it really is a wake up call. It shows you that if you are gaining weight and bodyfat % goes up your resting heart goes up as well.

Thank you!! Yes this is exactly why I posted this - I know that these forums and also product reviews tend to skew on the negative side, so it is great to see that lots of people are having a positive experience as well. I truly appreciate all the folks taking the time to share the details though! SUPER helpful!

Thats what i want next... the Aria... but i dunno.. i can't justify the price. i have a regular digital scale that calculated body weight and such... how much nicer is the Aria? Sounds like it's worth it to you

Don’t do it. I have tried numerous troubleshooting and cannot get the versa to connect and sync.  I’ve rebooted several time, re installed. Won’t sync, deletes previous days data, if any, has never synced sleep.  Sending back since Fitbit is not hearing or fixing problem as you can see from other post.  Like the look of the versa though

The Aria 2  is now on sale for $99 on Amazon. I really like to have all my data in the same place and I love the scale, but money is always an issue.

Hi Unfortunately I smashed my blaze rock climbing, and have just switched to the Versa. If you rely on the steps and calories used, then avoid in my opinion. The Versa count is doubling my steps as it seems to count every movement, so driving yesterday recorded me 45 mins exercise and overall an extra 850 calories for the day.

Had I just been starting out on my new healthy life style I would have not noticed this and would have eaten every last available calorie! I was so hungry when I started that I would have been gaining weight.

I have looked around the forums and cannot see a fix, just a lot of reset, reset and a bit more reset.

I miss my blaze!

addendum:- I gained 11 steps typing the previous message.

Just got the versa 3 days ago from the blaze and I'm loving it so far, apart from issues with the app but hopefully that be rectified soon and was also happening with blaze, not to do with fitbit itself.....defo glad I got the versa after debating about it for a long while....
