The strap retainer snapped. Claim denied as wear and tear. Now i have to use a elastic band to keep strap on. Look crap and makes fit bit look cheap Disappointed long member of fitbit 😖😳

Hi @Greatbritain1  have you tried using a silicon ponytail band that is clear to replace the broken strap retainer? Might make it look less noticeable

Same exact thing happened to me!

The strap is 100.% fine, just retainer tore. Fitbit should sell just that piece so you don’t need to buy a whole new strap. I glued mine but after 2 wks it’s coming apart again. 😔

Yes… I have small clear one but it’s too difficult to  get the strap in/out.

Pic of my band retainer. (Drips on it are from trying to repair/glue).

2nd try to fix my band retainer worked! Used a drop of glue first then when it was dry, used the brush over both sides of the tear. Dried in seconds then waited 24 hrs to use. It’s been 2 wks & no probs. Brush & nozzle version of this glue is easy to control. I’ve now used it to repair lots of things 🙂

@NancyB that's amazing. I'm a bit unsure about using super glue or anything else around the house. Last experience was gluing the house numbers back on my plastic lighted solar display. Got glue on my fingers, which I had to file off.

I sympathize & have done the same! I only have the use of 1 arm so when I say this specific version of gorilla glue (precision tip & brush combo) is easy to use, I mean it 😂  No hole to cut open, not a single applic prob. The tiny drop was just that, tiny! And the brush no diff than using nail polish. I’ve used other forms of gorilla glue & they were terrible because the glue expands. This version ROCKS! It took me longer to get a paper plate out & put it on an open magazine than it did to glue my strap 🙂

@NancyB that is great to know. I get tired of glue on my fingers, but it beats the alternative of buying new items. Thanks for telling us about the brush feature - I'm adding that to my shopping list.

Fyi, found this version of gorilla glue at Home Depot. There are 2 diff tops & all you need to do is untwist the top you want; nozzle for drops or brush to apply like nail polish. I put everything on a paper plate w/open magazine underneath in case I spilled anything along w/a rag & nail file in case I got any on me. Only takes secs to stick & short time to cure. Repaired 3 more things yest. Best glue I’ve ever used 💥

Hello @Greatbritain1  and @NancyB

You can purchase Fitbit replacement wristband fasteners on Amazon in a variety of different colors. Very inexpensive as well. Look here: https://www.amazon.com/Fastener-Compatible-Fitbit-Special-Colors/dp/B08Y8Q2PJV/ref=asc_df_B08Y8Q2PJV...

😉 Maybe this can work as well.
