Broken strap pin

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I wore my versa to tough mudder so changed my woven strap for the rubber one. When I have tried to remove the strap to put my woven one back on one comes out fine the other was stuck. a few people tried to get it off and now the pin has snapped. Not sure what to do as I now can't remove the strap at all. Has anyone else had this issue?15268135601385448721756765348774.jpg

You'll need a pin removal tool like these to get it off the good old fashioned way.

Brute force.  A needle nose pliers.  You might end up sacrificing your strap though.

You might have mud jammed in there.

This happened to me too and I ended up taking it to my local Timpson’s (who do watch batteries etc) and they managed to get it off. I tried myself but I was too scared I’d damage my watch as it’s not easy to get a good grip on it!

Living this same problem! I bought a third party strap because it was adjustable to my small wrists (milanese mesh style). The reason for this was thay fitbit's straps did not fit well.

I cannot get help removing the broken pin (ball piece came off) and I am stuck with a broken watch. While the underlying problem is with 3rd party items, I blame fitbit for poor strap design and available selection.

It should NOT be this difficult to remove and replace straps. Read the general complaints about their own branded straps. I hope future designs are standard among watches or easier to use.

(I did contact support, sent a picture, tried a toothpick and other tools. This is a stupid reason to be upset at the product. But it was expensive)

Wow!  We’re you able to get it off?

After reading this I tried a toothpick and did manage to remove the strap with the broken pin. Luckily my Inspire came with one spare strap so I have used the pin from that but I am worried now that this design is so fragile it will be hard for me to remove the straps safely in future to clean the device.

How did you get the strap off. my fitbit versa lite pin came off the strap, now stuck with a strap that irrates my skin.

@HannahJJ - Yes, sad that it’s only been a month. But wearing it to an extreme mudder is putting it thru extreme circumstances that have the potential to damage the device, blocking the sensor holes, band and connectors. The Versa is water resistant. Not mud resistant.
