Calorie counter WAY off

I've had my Versa for about 1.5 years and I've made sure my height & weight are updating and correct.... that said, my Versa has always tracked me as burning roughly 1500-1700 calories on non-workout/lazy-ish days, 1700-2200 on non workout/active days, and 2000-2600 on workout/ active days.  The last week or so, it's been tracking at 5000-7000 calories per day! Obviously something is wrong. Ive tried restarting and that has not fixed it! Help!

@JJMess I know some people had a glitch that would make their HR ridiculously high all the time which in turn made them burn "artificial" calories. Kinda like being in cardio zone or peak all the time. If you have tried regular troubleshooting steps like rebooting the tracker and uninstalling and re-installing the app, at this point, I would perform a factory reset (restoring tracker to factory defaults). Before factory reset, make sure you have deleted versa your phone's Bluetooth settings (not Fitbit app). To perform factory reset, open settings app on you Versa and scroll down to About. Tap it and choose factory reset. This will wipe all data from your tracker so it would be good if you could sync it first. After factory reset you will need to set up your versa again by adding a replacement device in your Fitbit mobile app. You can set up the watch back to the Fitbit account by following the instructions on this link: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

If you're not successful with the factory reset, I am afraid you will need to reach out to Customer Support to guide you through the next steps. Here's the link to Customer Support page.

@JJMess How are your heart rate readings? Are they very high?

@Marrrmaduke heart rate does seem elevated... not by a lot, but I'm sure it adds up. Even with that, would be hard to imagine adding 3000+ burned calories!

@Marrrmaduke thanks! I'll do this first thing in the morning so I can track for a full day and see where it puts me. Im planning for a light yoga workout and who knows what Covid-19 Quarantine Day 9 will bring for activity level, but hoping it's in some normal range!

No! It seemed like maybe it was working for the first day, but the last two days have been the same - showing a resting heartrate of 100+ and burning between 4000-5500 calories. I dont know what to do next!

@JJMess The high calorie burn is definitely caused by extremely high resting heart rate. There have been reports on this forum of people facing similar issue. I now people tried several factory resets in a row (yes more than one - what a pain). I also remember one post that really stayed with me because the solution was so weird. The person turned off the heart rate monitoring in the Settings on Versa for several hours or perhaps it was days, then turned it back on and rebooted the tracker. The weirdest part was the tracker was working properly again. I cannot explain it really, the same as I have no clue why suddenly Versa started misbehaving (unless there was an update that you installed last week).
