Calorie deficit

I have selected to be on a 500 calorie deficit plan. I was just wondering if the calorie intake I see is taking into account the 500 calorie deficit? Because I’ve been stopping my calorie intake when it says I’ve got 500 calories left for the day (to allow for the deficit) and someone suggested to me that I need to eat the calories that it shows me I’ve got for the day as the 500 calorie deficit has already been calculated into this allowance? Can anyone clarify for me please?

The amount of calories you have left to eat does take into account your chosen deficit target. So, if it says you have 200 calories left then you can eat them and still be on target.
