Calories Do Not Match

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The calorie information on the Dashboard does not match up with calorie information on the

tile "***cals in *** cals left" and then does not match when you click on this tile: the information for

calories under the heading "TODAY" does not compute either.  I am quite muddled, I am hoping

it is not a fault.

Maybe I am missing something, but have tried working the figures out between each, and never fine a

solution.

@Sarah.T. Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your account isn't showing the correct calories difference. How is that you think the calories are incorrect? To what are you comparing them? Could you share a screenshot (this will help a lot) of both the calories in vs out and the Today data?

I look forward to your reply!

Alright, so math isn't my strongest side so I'll ljust tell you what I've figured.

Basically you have a daily calorie intake you can have. If that's for exampe 1000 cals, then this is how much you can eat, right? However, if you have a -1000 cals deficit set as a goal to reach your weight goal or keep a regime you must burn 2000 cals.

sooo this would mean that if you burn 1900 cals today you will be 100 cals over because you haven't reached the deficit?

Sorry for the long post, I'm just trying to figure out how this works. I think that on the first photo you are getting the 323 cals over budget, meaning that you ate 323 cals more than what you should have in order to meet the deficit. Soo if you burn those 323 and not eat anything else you'll be g2g. And the second photo shouwn that you are 156 cals over your daily amount that you have set to intake. So if this was 1553 cals then you ate something with 156 cals more than what you should have had for the day.

Please let me know if all this makes any sence because I kind of got a little bit confused myself :D. I hopw you can figure it out soon

Thank you for taking the time to reply in detail, but I'm sorry im still confused.  I remember seeing a post where someone mentioned the same confusion, and a Fitbit person said it was a fault and that she would being to their attention (or something like that), anyway, looked for the post and was unable to find it again.  So I thought I would being it up again. Wondered if an repair update was needed. But other people have not mentioned it..

So don't know what to think. Sorry for my long reply also.

@Sarah.T.

Well, I actually checked my own app just now, maybe I should have done it before :D. Turns out both of mine match. In this case if you already saw this confirmed samewhere else and if a Fitbit representative has brought it up for review I'm guessing it's an issue with the app and should be fixed, most probably with an update for the Fitbit app. In the meantime you can check if your app is up to date and if not update it. You can also try to uninstall it and reinstall it (don't worry you won't lose any data because it is already on the account)

Sure hope they will fix it

Hi, sorry not an answer but support or the issue - my app tells me I’m over calories (pink zone) but my dashboard tells me I’m under (yellow zone) (for the same day). Very confused and starting to get a little irritated as I’m trying to be so good with food - hence the logging. Have added photos of the two.

Very interested to understand the reason or find out what I’m doing wrong. New to Fitbit and using a Versa.

Thanks for for any help. 3AD3A8F9-DE82-43DF-87B5-8E5572249925.pngD084B5DD-E088-46EE-97BD-09B0FF657903.jpeg

I'm in the same boat and I'm considering just using MFP and linking it to Fitbit because this is super annoying. That's the reason I bought it to monitor calories in and out and it's all incorrect. The phone says one thing, the dashboard another, and the detailed dashboard for calories another. Fix this.
