Can I use the Versa alongside a Fitbit One?

I've just been given a versa today and also own a fitbit one. I'd like to keep wearing the fitbit one because of the accuracy of the steps and to keep the continuity of data from the same device. I want to wear them both at the same time. My husband has set them up on the same account but I have just read this is not advised as the data can get confused. When I look up the instructions the directions are to set up another account. How do I do this? Are there any other instructions I need to know?

I also am wearing both and the versa definitely picks up some erroneous steps because of hand movement, so the one is way more accurate.  That aside, I've noticed that when I sync, the app uses the step and stair data from the one and everything else from the versa. This is only an issue when my one does the weird massive amount of stairs climbed even though really only 2 were climbed.

Hello @Kilmeny, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention, please note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing  an accurate view of your daily activity on your dashboard, so I would not suggest you to create a different account for each tracker/watch.

When you use multiple devices, Fitbit combines their data and present the totals. For example, if the tracker you wore to the office counted 8000 steps and the tracker you wore during your evening run counted 9000, the total number of steps on your dashboard is 17,000. However, it's not recommended to use both trackers at the same time to prevent overlapping data in your account.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I wore both at the same time for a few days.  At the end of the day, the Versa was giving a good 5-10 percent more steps than the Fitbit One.  I assume the One presented the more accurate total.  The Fitbit App and displayed steps also was syncing off the One.  I ended up returning the Versa as I'm one of the people who had several thousand mystery steps added while sitting on the charger at night.  I'm back to the One but the Versa had some neat features.

Thanks MarcoG for explaining how it all works. I'm new to wrist based trackers and still working out all the technicalities. I'm finding the forum a great source of support as I work out the best way to use the devices.

UPDATE:

Thanks Geepondy for telling me how you found it. I agree that the Fitbit One is likely to be the more accurate. For the moment I'm running them in tandem but will reconsider if the data becomes confused. It's a bit early for me to pick trends but it looks like I'm getting similar results to yourself but probably closer to the !0% mark. Shame about the mystery steps.  I really like using the One but the Versa does add some things that the One can't provide.

I use my Flex when my Versa is charging.  My Versa gives me more steps than previously but I like to think that it is more accurate with steps than my charge 2.  But I have to say they do a great job of syncing both, and if you wear two (or carry one in a bag that gives you steps) some how it knows how to delete the doubled up steps, very smart!  (It did that even when I swapped the charge and the flex, as I swam with my flex.

I have been a watch wearer my whole life and used to a constant display so it took awhile to get used to the Versa.  Once I did though, I enjoyed the Versa.  There were some inaccuracies with the sleep monitoring (I really do wish I was sleeping at times when I was really awake) and also the heart rate monitoring (no I don't think my heart rate hit 210 while on the elliptical) but I thought the monitoring was reasonable for a non professional wrist sensor monitor.  I may give the Versa another shot, especially if I'm convinced they've addressed and fixed the mystery step issue that many of us have experienced.  I'm probably in the minority but as one who is used to wear a watch, I wish there was a sensitivity adjustment to make the watch wake up quicker from wrist movement.  If the watch is not on a horizontal plane when you turn your wrist, it's hit or miss on whether it will wake up automatically and also why is there a slight but perceptible delay for the watch waking up after wrist movement?

Hello @geepondy and @ozuser, thanks for joining the conversation, it's nice to see you around. I hope you're doing well @Kilmeny, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I appreciate you have all shared your experience with me, please note that if you have more than one device paired to the same account and you forget to take one off before putting on another, the app will  reconcile the overlapping data to present the most accurate information possible on your dashboard. However, it's always recommended to sync the tracker you just took off before putting the other one on your wrist (or your waist in the case of the Fitbit One)

Thanks again for your participation in the forums, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
