Cannot get notifications on Versa from Samsung Note 4

So, I synched my new Versa. Enabled notifications on my Note 4 (Android version 6.0.1) for the Fitbit app, turned on notifications in the app and Versa, tried unpairing and pairing the device bluetooth connection, restarted my phone and Fitbit, uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app, etc, and still can't get notifications to my Versa. Basically went through that whole article Fitbit has out to troubleshoot this problem. Suggestions?

Check your settings on your phone.  You need lock screen notifications turned to show (not hide) and there might be something else you need to turn on.  Some phones need Show in History turned on (but I think that is iOS ones).  Also notifications wont work at the moment if your phone is on do not disturb.
