I have synced my phone and follow all the trouble shooting tips and text messages do not come through on the Versa 2. I get a notification that I have a message then the option to open or clear. When I click open, the message opens on my phone not my fitbit. This is not what the manual says. I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge and it is listed as a compatible phone.

This has happen a few times to me as well. But for the most part it works ok. I can only reply to text messages. ( Remember to use the default text message)
