Hi, I purchased a second-hand Fitbit Versa with battery issues. I got the battery replaced and got the watch running, but it is asking me for a passcode. The previous owner wasn't able to reset it because it wasn't turning on, but she told me the code and I am sure it is correct because I have entered more than 10 times already and the watch didn't lock. However, when I enter the code nothing happens, the Versa just stays at the code entry screen and does not move to the home screen. After a few seconds the display turns off and when I tap it again it asks to enter the passcode. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @enuff a few things concern me here.
You say that the Versa wasn't working for the seller.
After 10 tries to unlock, you should be seeing a message to unlock with phone.
Normally after entering the code the clock should show.
If the watch hasn't been removed from the sellers account, you could try logging into their account and resetting the code,
Or do a factory reset, this is what the seller should have done.
Fitbit OS hardware reset.
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This will trigger the 2-button hardware restart after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, whilst continuing to hold the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

The battery was dead so the seller could not connect to the watch.
I tried to pair it with my phone, but to see the pairing code first I need to unlock the screen, which does not happen after entering the passcode.
I tried holding all 3 buttons for more than 12 seconds, but it does not restart

Yes that is what concerns me, why buy a unit that the seller says is not working.
Holding in the 3 buttons is step one of three steps.
Do you get the Fitbit logo when holding in the three buttons. Then release the bottom right button.

I couldn't reach step 2. As I said nothing happens when holding the 3 buttons for 12 seconds or more.

As I noted, the response to you entering the pin code is not what is expected. And now you say holding in the 3 buttons do not work.
What happens when holding in the left and lower right? The unit should restart after a few secondd.
My concern is this a functioning tracker, and not a dead unit that Fitbit has replaced.

Do these buttons combinations work when the device's screen is locked?
Still nothing happens when I hold either the three buttons together or the left and the lower right.
