Purchased a Versa for 12 year old this Christmas. Can't set him up as a child account under the adult account. So frustrating because we wanted a more sophisticated device since he is a runner. Please come up with a way to enter a child under an adult account for devices other than the ACE.
Thanks.

@WendyB is entirely right. There are several reasons why Fitbit does not advertise Versa for children. Versa is a full smartwatch. Some of its features might be harmful, e.g. weight goals and notification access. In comparison, Ace promotes health and activity in general, but there's no such thing as calories burnt. One cannot monitor weight and set the weight goals. This is supposed to help prevent weight-obsession and anxiety, and body-image disorders in children. Also, Versa does not allow parents to monitor what information their children see on it. It provides access to all notification features. Ace does not (only phone calls). I am not sure how compliant that would be with the federal law.

Personally I feel this is overly PC and Care-Bareish, but that's just my opinion. A child can still get a Versa to wear, why not allow the parents to help monitor it, this rubbish about calorie and body image you mention is a farce. Unless it is illegal for a child to receive or use the Versa this stance not allowing it a an account under the parent account makes little to no sense at all.
If it is illegal for a child to use a fitbit other than the ACE (which I very much doubt there is such a law) then perhaps a warning should be required to be printed on the box. Or is there an Age limit that I am unaware of prohibiting children from wearing a full featured smartwatch, I'd really like to know.

Is that what you say to those who struggle with body-image mental issues? Believe me it is not rubbish.

I recommend Googling laws in your jurisdiction.
