I have done so much "troubleshooting" to get my Versa working with my Xperia X (Android 8.0) and still, connected GPS does not work and most of the time it is unable to sync with my phone. I have installed frequent app updates to no avail. And I have still not received the new Versa firmware update.
Now I will contrast this with the experience of my wife and her Fitbit Charge 3. I told her to buy one to replace her trusty Fitbit one as she needed a device for swimming. I had reservations though...
On unpacking, she applied the obligatory firmware update in double quick time (unlike my 4 hour experience) and has been using the device with no problems (except the vibrate not working intermittently on SMS notifications) for walking and swimming. Yesterday she took it out on a bike ride. Connected GPS to her phone straight away. Full route recorded. No issues. No messing. And this with a wireless cycle computer in close proximity.
Now for the killer. My wife has an iPhone 6 with IOS12.
I know Android is a fragmented platform but my suspicion is that Fitbit are concentrating on iPhone connectivity to challenge the iWatch. I will never use an Apple phone so that leaves me stuck up the creek without a paddle.
I am an annoyed and frustrated user. My Fitbit One which I've had for years still works flawlessly!

Is your phone a supported device?

No it isn't a supported phone. I already knew that. But I had hoped that in the time I have had my Versa it would have become supported. It is running Android 8.0.0 after all. It has Bluetooth BLE.
I have tried running with Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 with no joy.
In fact, a Fitbit support suggestion to me was to change my phone. That isn't going to happen!
And why haven't I received the firmware update yet. I understand it is being gradually rolled out. Who knows, this may help the problems I am having with my connectivity...
Like I said, I am becoming rather frustrated. Especially as my wife's iPhone6 just worked straight away with hr Fitbit Charge 3 and what I see all over the forum is Android users grumbling about connectivity problems...
