Hi everyone! I know there are several posts about incorrect stair count data, but I wasn't sure if there's any feedback on how to manually adjust your data? Someday's my Versa will claim I climbed 28 stairs when I only climbed 5, and it's extremely frustrating considering the entire point of Fibit is to log activity and provide accurate data. Is there any way, whether on the app or desktop, to edit data manually? I'd love to remove the inaccurate stair counts so I can accurately record my activity, progression and improvement.
Based off what I've read in previous posts:
- yes, I have restarted my device a few times and I still see inaccuracies on some days.
- it's never just a couple stairs, it's always some insane jump from 5 to high 20's in a matter of minutes.
- I do no live in an area with wild weather that could be affecting my stair count
- I find that the stair increase occurs whenever I'm in the shower or after completing a really intense sweaty bootcamp class. If water is the problem, then why is the device marketed as waterproof? I would have bought a non-water device if it meant my data would remain accurate.
Any tips greatly appreciated! 🙂

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Melizzard. I am sorry for the delayed response.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern regarding your Fitbit Versa counting floors accurately. Thank you for your efforts to resolve this and for providing the additional details, I totally understand how you are feeling. Your device uses both an accelerometer and altimeter to track floors, and registers a floor when detecting continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet. Your device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. Fitbit devices are meant to be worn day and night, so it’s important to keep your wristband clean and dry. For details, review our Wear and Care tips. For more information about the accuracy of the Fitbit devices, please see here.
You can remove the extra floors from your daily total by following the instructions in this help article: How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?
If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

Hello Fitbit,
How do you suggest that the accuracy of the stairs be corrected. My stairs are grossly incorrect. Like today I just woke up and it says I did 16 floors. I have the Versa 2 and I didn't start having this issue until 2 months ago. Please provide a resolution to this issue! Thank you.
