I have  had the Fitbit  versa for a  year.  I was thinking that it needed to be charged,.I charged it over night,but  still will not come own.

Try a Restart and do it several times if necessary.

First, I'd like to apologize with you for the delay in responding your post. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Just as @SunsetRunner suggested, such article includes a restart process that can be really helpful for this situation
