I take part in weekly challenges with coworkers and it is not counting all my steps to the challenge. For example I had over 14000 steps and it only put 11000 to challenge.

Challenges sometimes take forever to sync.
If the watch is syncing to the account, and you see the steps on the dashboard but not on the Challenge, then your only option is to wait until it syncs on its own (the account with the challenge).
It may do it later or it may not do it at all.

I have never had this problem with previous Fitbit products. This has only been a problem since I began using my new Versa.

Challenges have nothing to do with which product you use. If there's a bug that started happening now, it might just be a coincidence that you started experiencing that after you got the Versa.
If you think it isn't you should contact customer support since they are the ones who have access to the tools to confirm whether that's true or not. It will also be a lot faster (most likely) than waiting for any moderator to post a response.
