Fitbit App double counting exercise?

Hey

I just got my versa a week ago and have since been for 2 runs, I log these through the versa watch with the connected GPS. However when I finish the run it logs the exercise twice, one with a map of where I’ve run etc, and the other a similar distance (but less) to what I’ve run with no map, assuming it’s guessing my exercise from my steps and heart rate? How do I get the app and watch to connect together and not record one run as 2 separate runs!

Hello there @Lucybeckham, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for reporting this issue and certainly this is not a normal behavior. The reasonable explanation here, might be related to SmartTrack.

It is possible beside the connected GPS activity, is recognizing a SmartTrack activity causing a duplicate entry.

Try to perform a restart on your tracker if this issue is happening on a daily basis: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around.

I’m having the same issue, I go for a run on the treadmill and record it’s treadmill and it will record fine, but usually a couple of hours later the smart track has added The run again, so more steps, more exercise minutes, more kcals burned.

Did you ever figure out how to stop the Fitbit from double counting? I did a spin class and it also adding cycling (with a higher calorie count burn) for the same time...

Yeah if you go to your smart track settings turn it off for cycling / running etc if you’re going to manually log it! I have it so mine only smart tracks walking!
