Fitbit App stops working since last update

We have two Versa at home, one constantly has issues sync with phone (Huawei Honor) and now works as a watch only, the other one worked OKish with phone (Huawei Mate 9) until last app update. Even since the update the app could not be launched. When uninstall-reinstall, works fine for the first time, and when everything is set up running, the app won't launch any more. If you press the button you will get the Fitbit screen for one second and it will disappear as if nothing has happened.

Very disappointing. We wanted to get notifications on our Versas and it has not been working properly for all the time we had it.

Only purchased 2 months ago from Currys. Can we still return and get a full refund?? (we already had a replacement, as the first one stopped working about a month ago). Numerous issues non-stop. And we are not even heavy users (no additional apps installed, not using tracking etc, not playing music)

Those two phones are not on the Supported Devices List which is probably why you are having problems. Whether you can get a refund or not is down to Curry's policies on refunding. You will need to check with them.

The one that does not sync at all is actually on the list (honor 6), the one works on and off (mate 9) is not.

Following the link in your post:

"If you don’t find your device, but it meets the operating system requirements listed above, you will likely still be able to set up, sync and use Fitbit products."

Mate 9 certainly meets the operating system requirements.

Also, it has been working on my Mate 9 until a couple of weeks ago. Even now it works when I re-install the app. Just after the first couple of runs it stops working. Does not sound like a phone problem to me.
