Fitbit Versa 2 - Doubling Exercises

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit versa has started to double up my exercises. I will set my fitbit for the eliptical trainer and then 2 minutes into exercising it seems to auto recognise the exercise as running and then has both the eliptical and a run recorded on the app with double the steps. I then have to delete the run. I have turned off all of the auto recognised exercises but it still happens?

Hi @Kazza70 , a warm welcome to the Community! I apologize for the delayed response.

Thank you for trying to solve the situation by yourself.

Do you use another app, besides the Fitbit app, to track your activities? Or do you have linked another app, e.g. Myfitnesspal, Strava, etc?

If so this could  explain your situation. If you log an activity on another app or if you sync your Fitbit  with the Fitbit App and then sync the other app, this could confuse the app, and show you 2 different activities recorded.

If you don't have any other app liked to your account, could you please let me know if the activities shown are exactly the same or if there are variations on the times and distances.

It will be also from great help if you could tell me what mobile device are you using to sync your Versa 2.

I'll be expecting your reply

Hi JuanFitbit

Thank you for your reply.

Firstly sorry I incorrectly advised that it is a Fitbit versa 2 but it is a
Fitbit versa that I have.

I do have my fitness pal and it uses my fitbit to track my exercise.

However today for instance I have used the eliptical trainer and set this
as the exercise on my versa and when I completed the exercise it has logged
the eliptical trainer and also a run for the same duration.

I have attached 2 screen shots, I selected another eliptical exercise for
10 minutes and it has logged another exercise at the same time as a walk.
Finally I selected a run and it has again duplicated another run.

It's strange as I have turned off the auto recognise exercise with the
exception of walking?

Hi @Kazza70 , thank you for your answer and further information. Don't worry about the tittle and the confusion of the Versa and Versa 2. I'll correct your post and title.

In order for me to investigate further please do as follows:

- When you start your activity, do not start the record with the watch. Also do not log it manually either on Myfitnesspal or the Fitbit app.

Then sync the Watch and let me know what is shown in your app.

I'll be expecting your reply !

I'm having the same issue on my Versa 2, but not exactly double the exercise.  It started about 2 weeks ago.  I start and stop tracking a walk in the FitBit app on my iPhone.  when I check the stats for that walk, there has been a 2nd tracking but it's not an exact duplicate.  The start time is different and stats are crazy.  some stats could be: distance from 0  to 0.15, duration from 14-57 minutes, steps from 0 - under 200, usually closer to 0.

Yesterday they started posting with a future time.  I tracked a walk at 11:49 am.  when I ended the tracking of that walk, there was another already posted with time stamp of 3:47 pm.  I tracked another walk at 6:06 pm.  when that walk ended and I checked the stats, there was another posted for 10:05 pm.  The 3:47 pm walk was twice the 11:49 am walk (for duration) and the 10:05 pm walk was off by a few seconds from the 6:06 pm walk.

I restarted the FitBit yesterday morning before the walks.  How do I make this stop?
