Fitbit Versa Blank Screen Not Working

I recently brought a fitbit Versa special edition from Argos, I am really angry as it cost me £220 in the last month i have had to change this watch 2 times the 1st one just suddenly stopped working. 2nd one same thing woke up after a nap and it stopped working i have tried to hard reset the device by holding down the left button for 10 sec's nothing, i have tried charging it nothing its a bloody joke.

 

I really liked it although in the uk half the functions don't work like you cant use Spotify, you cant use the NFC payment thing cause it only recognises 2 or 3 bank cards and my bank is not included. I am worried that if I take this one back and the same thing happens they may not change it if it last longer then the stores 30 day money back guarantee period. 

 

Update - Returned it back to Argos I am now on my 3rd one in the space of 4 weeks, hopefully this one doesn't fail.  I was told by the staff in Argos that lots of people have returned them complaining about the battery. 

 

Fitbit Team, Can you advise why 2 watches have stopped working within 4 weeks of the release date???? Can you let me know what i need to do to get the device working or if their is a known fault ???

Hi there @Debstar2005, my apologies for the late response and thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. Certainly is not expected that your Fitbit Versa fails out of the box. I can understand the frustration originated from this experience.

 

There are different factors that will explain these issues you have experienced. However I cannot find you a reasonable explanation why is happening. However, I saw you updated your post mentioning that the retailer was able to give you a replacement.

 

I'm glad to see you are back on track whatsoever and for any other issue you encounter with your new Versa, feel free to keep me posted. I will give follow up with you to find a solution.

This happened to me yesterday. I have only had it for a month and up until yesterday, everything worked fine. Then yesterday, midday, it went completely black. Note: the battery life was at 40% that morning so there was no need to make sure it was on the charger. When I got home, I put it on the charger and it was almost like it had short circuited and the screen kept flickering from color to black and white and fading in and out. I charged it to 100% before bed, even though the screen was still flickering in and out and was hard to read. By 6am, it was dead again. I think this is ridiculous that I spent over $200.00 for this item, and the special addition at that, and it stopped working after a week. I will say that Fitbit has offered to replace it, but I had to prove over and over and with pictures that it wasn't working. It made me feel like a criminal. Now I have to wait another week before I even get the replacement. It should have been sent overnight since this was through no fault of my own that this happened and that they had a defective item.

Mine just crashed the other day. It was only holding a charge for about 12 hours and I went online to try and troubleshoot and now it won’t charge. It only says 0% when I plug it in and then nothing hours later. Sometimes the fir it symbol comes on. Won’t restart. Just ends up saying 0% when u unplug it. Any suggestions?

The same thing happened to me, Ive had it less than 2 weeks, woke up and the screen was black and wouldn't turn on. the green light in the black is still on. I tried doing a factory reset, Ive talked with the live help people, Ive tried emailing and haven't had anyone email me back yet. Super frustrating I haven't even had it two weeks!

Day 7 -  still haven't received my replacement. Website states it will be another day. Meanwhile, my $200.00+ original one that broke is just collecting dust on my counter. Big waste of money.

I got my Special Edition Versa Friday - today is Monday and the screens are black 😡.  The clock face works and that is it!! Where do I complain too??
