Fitbit Versa Caller ID Not Working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a new Fitbit Versa that I am running on a galaxy note 8 running android pie. My phone notifications just show up as Phone when someone is calling. I have tried uninstall\reinstalling the app. All the permissions are enabled. Everything else works except for the caller ID is not coming through. Running 2.94 for the fitbit app looking for some assistance to get this working.

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and time troubleshooting this matter prior posting, your patience is appreciated. Just to confirm and for me to provide you with better assistance, can you please let me know if you're receiving phone call notifications on your device but the Caller ID is not being shown? Or you're not receiving phone call notifications at all? Also, I'd like to let you know that your post was moved to our Versa board.

I am receiving phone call notifications showing that a call is coming in. All that is displayed however is Phone.

May I ask what phone dialer app you use? There are hundreds of apps for the phone on android

@RicardoFitbitI am having the same issue on my Android since the latest update. All apps are up to date, tried turning off all notifications, restarted phone, turned them back on and still didn't fix it.

When a phone call comes in, my fitbit Versa notifies me, but it just says "phone" instead of the caller iD.

I'm guessing this is the factory pre-set Samsung Phone App. Version 10.0.05.28

@Rich_Laue the standard phone dialer. I believe its just called phone in Android Pie.

I too thought this was the issue as I had TrueCaller installed (but was still using the stock dialer) but I uninstalled that and the issue is still persisting.

Update: The Versa is still showing as Phone when getting phone calls. However I ignored a call the other day (by pushing the top button on the versa) and my contact name showed up in the missed call notification.

Frustrated with the lack of response from Fitbit on this. Notification is still showing up as phone but swiping down on the versa shows the number or the contact name if I miss a call.

Have you contacted Fitbit @JeremyS132 currently we are in a community forum and while a moderator may pop in, it is mostly left up to the community of Fitbit users to offer assistance.

As for phone calls announcements with the callers name, this function seems to have stopped a few android updates ago.

Hello guys! I'm here to continue providing assistance, my sincere apologies for the delay in responding your posts @JeremyS132, thanks for all the information that was shared. @Rich_Laue thank you very much for the assistance that was provided.

@JeremyS132 Let me share with you that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a non-compatible device with our products and services, therefore, you may encounter certain difficulties with some of your Fitbit features such as notifications. That said, even though you're using a incompatible mobile device, I recommend you to check all the information related to notifications here and then follow the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes. If the issue persist, I suggest you to try with a different mobile device that is compatible.

@Eastcoastncgal I appreciate your effort and time troubleshooting your Versa prior posting. To better assist you, can you please let me know which Android mobile device you're currently using? I recommend you to follow the help articles that were shared above and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted, I'll be around.

@RicardoFitbitI have a Samsung Galaxy S8. This issue is still and issue. Just chatted with a rep just now and he said it is still an ongoing issue that has not been resolved. Seems wild it has taken Fitbit so long to get this figured out! I'm shopping for other watches at this point. My main use for a smart watch is to see who is calling without looking at my phone.

I have just bought a versa 2 and am struggling to get caller info showing. I have a galaxy 8 , and am reading, with frustration, that this has been an issue. I have a galaxy 8. The caller info shows only AFTER the call has been ended.... why do I do?
