My wife's fitbit versa lite just stopped connecting. We tried resetting it and now her fitbit won't even turn on. It doesn't get past the logo part.

It seems like you did a factory reset of your watch which means its now in its default state and has to be setup again from scratch.
Remove the Versa entry from bluetooth and from the Fitbit App.
Logout of the Fitbit App and restart both watch and phone then login to the Fitbit App and setup the Versa as you did when new.

I contacted the technical support and they said the same thing. We finally were able to get the watch to turn on, but it still won't sync to her phone. Even after I tried everything you said. It will say that it's syncing but stops after about 2-3 minutes

Two things to check.
No other Bluetooth devices or Fitbit installations are or have been active eg PC version.
And clear the cache and force stop the Fitbit App in Android or uninstall and reinstall the App in iOS and reset up notifications.
In Android phone Settings * Apps Fitbit Storage - clear cache [not data] Force Fitbit shutdown [though it doesn't seem to fully] Log back in to the Fitbit app
*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones] |
Or for IOS uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, and redo notification setup. |
And probably best to restart both watch and phone afterwards for good measure.
