My son got a new IPhone 11 Pro for Christmas and in the process of transferring between his old Iphone8 to the new 11, he has some how managed to delete his Versa from the IPhone 8, and then locked his Versa, the Versa wants to be unlocked via the app, but because it is not synced with the app at the moment we can’t unlock it or sync it back to the app, does anyone have any idea of how to resolve our issue?

When switching phones a user simply loads the Fitbit app on the new phone and logs into their Fitbit account.
He will need to do a factory reset.
Button Factory Reset for the Versa 2 and Charge 3
Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
When the Fitbit logo disappears: Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates the factory reset.

Thanks Rich! I was having the same problem and spent 2 hours on google & youtube with no resolution. I found your post, tried it and it worked! You have no idea how happy this fix has made me. Thank you so much for posting these instructions. Have a very happy new year!

Hi Rich, thanks for your reply. This is a Versa, not Versa 2. I tried your instructions on factory resetting, with no luck. I also hit google for instructions on how to factory reset the Versa, using all 3 Buttons, but this did not work either.
Do you have any other ideas on what we can do to fix our issue?

The Versa has a different routine and not as easy, but it does work.
Fitbit OS hardware reset.
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This will trigger the 2-button hardware restart after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, whilst continuing to hold the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

Thanks again Rich, but unfortunately I just can’t get the Versa to reset to Factory, I have tried the exact process you provided, I get the Fitbit Logo and as soon as it disappears I release the bottom right button, the Fitbit Logo doesn’t show again while I’m holding the left and top right buttons, but I do not get the long vibration and eventually when I release the buttons the Fitbit will continue booting, but it does not reset to Factory, could the fact that it’s locked out inhibit the Factory Reset process?

Here is another link to the instructions, from a moderator, when I did a search.
If the tracker was still connected to the Fitbit account.. Logging into the same account on any phone, it is a 15 second process to unlock.
Being locked and not connected to a Fitbit account, the only way to gain access is to do a factory reset with this method.
Once unlocked, next time set the lock for Fitbit pay only.
