Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Coach

Hey there fitbit-ers 🙂

I'm considering purchasing a Versa and I have some questions about how it works with the Fitbit Coach service.

I intend to go out with a Versa on my wrist, wireless BT earbuds and my phone in a wristband (obviously exercising outdoors). Am I correct in assuming that I can control all aspects of the personal coaching from my Versa, without having to take my phone out of my wristband to use the Coach app? Or is the integration of the personal coaching inside the Versa limited to a select few workouts, and for the rest I'd have to use my phone app?

Also, since I know the Versa can store music, do you connect your BT earbuds directly to it, or do both the earbuds and the Versa connect to your phone (which serves as a hub, I guess)?

Thanks ahead for the replies 🙂

I haven't made sure of the the issue with the heart rate yet, though to answer your questions, the coach app on the versa will only have a few exercises to display. You need to complete the current one on the versa for they to randomly change.

Speaking about the earbuds, you can connect them directly to the Versa, via bluetooth (you won't need to use your cellphone as a hub).

dont bother. The fitbit coach fakes your heartrate when you use it. You can be sitting down when you use the "coach" and it will show your heartrate at 130. No input from support on this either.

So, it the fake heartrate a coach issue, or is it the Versa getting wrong heartrate measurements in general, even outside of the coach workouts?

That's a good question. It certainly is faking the heartrate in coach mode; going up from 70 to 130 when doing nothing is pretty obvious ;).  However, in general I find the heartrate to be nonsensical. I've been extremely active going up stairs and it shows 100bpm (when I know I'm easily 130bpm+), and then other times doing nothing and it shows 100bpm+.

That's actually very concerning 😕 The concept of the on screen workouts was sort of what drew me to the Versa, but if it has a problematic HR sensor, maybe I should give the Charge 2 a shot instead.

Is this a common problem with the Versa (because I searched for reviews on YT and reddit and hadn't seen anyone mention the HR issue)?
