Fitbit Versa counting steps and floor while driving - Overall feedback.

After having problems with the Surge thats 3, I gave up with Fitbit. 2 Years later with the advent of new models have purchased a Versa. I should never have come on to this community page, as it seems problems of the past have not been addressed! Altho my Versa preforms well I too have issues with stair counts over 2 mountain passes I drive daily, giving me kudos for climbing stairs, mainly the 2 passes I drive are 920m and 895m! Also steps are counted thru the steering wheel up to 10,000 steps without me leaving the truck?

I read this information and this is still a problem as my HR never tracked the amount of steps I am getting while driving the same vehicle same roads!  Please advise and manual enter does not prove to be an effective solution

That is basically no answer to the poor guy.

How about - "We're seeing increased discussion about this issue here in the forums and we're looking into it".

At least I hope you do and I hope you are.

First batch of accelerometers bad and a replacement watch fixes it? Better
that than a faulty design. Let us know if it fixes it please.

Hello @RobertoME, and thanks for the automatic reply.

Just one additional (and personal) comment on this growing topic :
I have been using Fitbit trackers for years and got seduced by the Versa. The fact that it counts steps (and calories and activity time) while i am driving is falsing all my data.
Proposed solutions as : avoiding "bumpy roads", turning off the watch during travels or manually edit in the app a "driving" activity are clearly NOT solutions, let's be honest.
Never been the case on my previous Fitbit devices by the way. How can a more expensive (and the latest developed) Fitbit product can be a downgrade in the user experience?
Would appreciate a solid answer (software update soon?) from Fitbit.

Thanks a lot.

I’d certainly like the Fitbit algorithm to be made smart enough to fix this but I had a Charge HR for a few years before my Versa and it also counted steps while driving.  I enter a Driving activity to cancel these, it’s pretty easy.  Guess I’m lucky most of my driving is short enough for this to be negligible.  But for my 4 hour drives this is absolutely necessary.

I had an online chat and they are sending me a replacement. Try that. I heard somewhere there was a problem with the measurement part.

I was sold mine a few months ago, same issues.  Also told it had the pay oprion. No one told me there were two versions of the versa. One with the pay chip and one without. Extremely disappointed in it. Not to mention lack of integration with Samsung Health.

Why not just create a "Drive Mode" where users can turn it on directly from the watch before driving!! During this time, floors and steps will not be counted, but the heart rate will still be measured with calories being counted that way only.

My versa counted 5 extra floors and 1,000 steps today while I was driving. If a Starbucks app can be designed to work on the watch then the "Drive Mode" should be simple.
