My versa way over counts steps. Counts steps when my arm moves and counts hundreds of steps when driving! I have done all the little "fixes" reccomend and still nothing. Any ideas? For $200 the thing should atleast have a accurate step count. Thought I was upgraded fron the flex 2, but I'm extreamly disappointed. Will there be a update to fix the bug? Or should I just return it.

There is an app called DriveBit that will help with your driving steps.

yeah, I have it.
Update:
Hopefully then will come out with a update to fit it. My heart rate monitor is pretty accurate and it tracks workouts pretty good but has such a problem with plain steps throughout the day

Welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @angelicamarie and @TrinaM. Thanks for stopping by @swim4lifekac.
I was reading your Versa is overcounting steps. In this scenario Your device has been tested however in the most basic form is a motion sensor and in occasion the vibration of the car or other sublet movements with your arms, will be translated in to steps. Though in occasions, a few extra steps won't affect your trends, it's possible to log a driving activity and remove the steps from your account totals. For more information see How do I edit or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Other workaround wold be as it was suggested by @swim4lifekac.
Thank you for your feedback and hope this helps.

I'm on the 3rd replacement (4 in total) and still having the issue. 1st one I sent back was for overcounting, 2nd was for installation issues, 3rd for overcounting. They didn't even ask for the defective units back! What does that tell you? You are absolutely right, $200 should be worth something. In addition to being on the phone with support, I also sent an email which has gone ignored. I can promise this will be the last Fitbit I purchase and I will continue posting my thoughts on every social media avenue available. I think Fitbit has been irresponsible and deceitful!

I received my versa on the 27th. Was so excited to put it to use on Friday morning, well halfway through my run it was fine by the time I got to my car the step count was fine but it showed my distance was 9 miles when it should have been right around 4. Called support twice they were no help kept telling me to manually calculate my steps! Then to turn off gps, and restart! Seemed to work fine Saturday , now it’s Sunday My IPhone shows I did 3.9 miles and my Fitbit showing steps fine a little over 10k but that I’ve gone 5.46!!! Ugh can anyone give me advice, or do I pack this thing up send it back and go back to my flex?

My 3rd replacement is still over counting. It seems to me that it's an
issue with all trackers. Pack it up and go for another brand all
together!!! I am beyond disgusted.

This is more than just a "few steps" its over counting by over a thousand. I just got mine today and set it up, it has been active for maybe 4 hours and already has counted 1,935 steps (includes driving) and I realistically have only taken MAYBE around 300. I immediately came to look for support with this issue but I find many others are having same problem. Seems I've made a decision to return the device and will do so tomorrow. I was excited about the Fitbit Versa (first time fitbit owner ever, was debating over Apple watch) but only having the device for a few hours, I'm severely disappointed.

You've made the right choice. The Versa is a piece of junk! The first unit
I bought had a step count of 35,000 at 11:00 AM on the second day I had
purchased it.
I loved the Charge 2. Get the Apple watch.
