@NKing2126 I'm in the US so this might not be the same but, sometimes the merchant is only really set up for Apple Pay and not all contactless pay. The salesperson at the checkout never is really that knowledgeable regarding the set up. You can try contacting the store customer service. Otherwise, I would suggest you keep trying to use it at different merchants. Yes, it's disappointing when it doesn't work but I think it's a fault at the merchant/reader and not with your watch or Fitbit Pay setup. JMHO.

I've had similar experiences in Sainsburys but it has worked for me on occasion. I've not really tried it enough to establish a pattern yet, but it might be worth trying restarting the watch (hold down left button and bottom right button until the Fitbit logo appears) before paying and see if that works - before the last time that I remember it working I'd just done a restart that day. That might be a coincidence though!

Not an expert, but.. That tends not to be the case in the UK - contactless was very much a thing here prior to Apple Pay, and as far as I am aware the contactless terminals should support anything that follows the standards. That's probably because the UK adopted the EMV standard with Chip and PIN over 13 years ago, so adding contactless using EMV was just an extension of what already existed - it just needed the extra NFC chip and antenna hardware in the cards themselves, and readers in the card machines, both of which happened as they were replaced over time. Right now there's one shop/bar/restaurant/etc I use that doesn't have contactless card machines, and only one card in my wallet doesn't have contactless.
The US only adopted EMV with Chip and Signature in the last couple of years, after Apple Pay was a thing, and if I recall there was still a requirement in some cases that there had to be a signature even for small amounts, which meant that contactless cards weren't much use (and I believe that in 2016 when the US banks were forced to upgrade to EMV chip cards most of them went the cheap way and didn't add the NFC chip and antenna for contactless). So retailers setting up specifically for Apple Pay might have made sense at the time. It's all a bit odd, to be honest.
Doesn't mean that it's not a problem with the reader or retailer, but to be honest it wouldn't be my first assumption - there's an awful lot of contactless transactions going on anyway!

I had same problem. Used to work before new update on watch. Will let you know next time I try to use it. Right now using discovercard because I get 5% off at grocery stores. Prior to that I was using Bank of America Visa, which Fitbit accepts where I think I was getting 2 or 3% off. Hopefully if there is a problem Fitbit will fix it

I have the Charge 3. I'm having the same problem, Fitbit pay it worked before the first of the year and then it stopped. Just received it as a Christmas Present.

Especially to those on iOS who say it worked but stopped, try closing Fitbit app and rebooting Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes, then paying using FP (do not open the Fitbit app). Other thing to try might be a reinstall of Fitbit app with a reboot of both devices.
