Trying to set up a new watch. Managed to install app on my phone and it immediately wanted to update the watch. It's now stuck with the "progress" bar about a third of the way across the screen. This happens every time I restart the watch. The display won't go off and my phone will not find the watch any more on Bluetooth. Help!

There are a couple of things to try in fitbit's troubleshooting guide to update problems at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2047/
I hope that helps you get things sorted. It must be frustrating to get a new fitbit and then can't use it.

The article just says that it can get stuck sometimes. There's no solution. I have the same issue and my phone and fitbit device has been stuck on the update for over 12 hours. I even tried the factory reset option and it is still doing the same thing

I ended up getting a free replacement, sent direct by Fitbit after being put through to them by Amazon who it was bought from.

I bought a Fitbit versa Lite yesterday for my daughter's birthday.
She loved her present. But it was short-lived.
I've been trying to activate the watch for more then36 hours.
But every time it gets stuck on the installation.
Now I read that this is not a coincidence.
I can't find any clear solution either.
I'm sorry that I bought this fitbit.
That's not how you treat customers.

I found that if you set your fitbit into the charging cradle and plug it into your computer it will update the firmware and the rest of the update will install.
