GPS issues with Versa

I know it's no newsflash, but there are serious GPS issues with the Versa.  It truly renders progress/improvement on runs meaningless because I can't get a true GPS route ever anymore.  I've noticed a substantial uptick in these issues since upgrading to Android Pie.

On top of that, I've gone through 3-4 rounds of Fitbit "Support" and essentially get told:

1.  Consumer error, because my Pixel 2 isn't a "supported device."  Oh... Foolish me to think the Versa would work with a major device (that was out before the watch). Ok, fair enough, but then said consumer sticks with the Versa for now 6ish months thinking "they'll get it working..." And here we are within a month of the Pixel 3 announcement, and it's still awful.

2.  Unpair, uninstall app, reinstall/pair everything.  Ok... That didn't/doesn't work.

3.  Enable Dev Options and change the Bluetooth from 1.4 to 1.3 . Ok... That didn't/doesn't work.

4 . Then, once I say enough is enough, get me into a device that works or refund my money and stand up for your lackluster product that you're clearly not supporting, and they tell me to contact Best Buy (where I purchased it) to speak with them about THEIR warranty.  This one was amazing... Sometimes all you can do is laugh I guess and chalk up a $250ish dollar loss.

As someone who has spent over a decade in software and client service, I must say I wish some days I could get away with the type of "support" and client "satisfaction" that I've experienced with Fitbit, but I have way too much pride than to run our business that way.

Hey @jad814, a warm welcome to the Community.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this GPS issue and appreciate all the feedback provided. As you might know, in order to have a successful connection between your watch and phone, it needs to be a compatible mobile device.

When a phone isn't compatible, it doesn't mean that it won't work with your Versa but you might experience some connectivity issues. You can always try the instructions provide in the help article Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device? but I don't guarantee it will work 100%.

Happy stepping. Robot Happy

Jad814,

Syncro: I had been experiencing problems with Versa from starting using time. I contacted support many times because my Versa unsync every day. They said (same as you was told) that is not full compatible. Unfortunatelly when I bought the watch (Doha free shop) it was told to me that was compatible with all android devises (my phone is a Motorola Z2 play....good....but quite standard...nothing rare...). Of course, nobody take responsibility.

GPS: I run with the Versa, and usually GPS make big difference between sightseen rute and Versa rute (some times big difference in tems of meters, time, speed, rute map). I can say it for sure because I have been running for years with different devises and apps.

Versa support team hear you, they are very kind, but they don't give solutions
