Wow that’s strange! Got mines working and I love it!

Well I exchanged mines twice but I’m guessing it was me? The green light would work if it wasn’t touching my skin but once I put the sensor on my skin it would cut off. So I have to wear the versa on my wrist bone. I don’t know if it gets a better pulse reading there or what. As far 2-3 fingers width above that’s a no go!

That’s crazy! Maybe mines is defective to I just found a way around it but it should work higher up on my wrist for working out but it doesn’t.

My exact issue. Pretty pointless for a "fitness tracker" if it cant move off a certain exact spot on your wrist... such a joke... If I move around at all I pretty much lose the heart rate and this thing is on way tighter than I would like it to be.. My Alta I could wear super loose and would never break the HR reading.

Just went through setting up and got my Amazon replacement Lavender SE Versa set up! The heart rate sensor is FINALLY working after getting a brand new replacement. 🙂

The one Fitbit support made me hard reset 3 times is a dud. Shipping back too amazon now as a true defect. Not crazy, def the device so I'd ship back anything faulty and not waste anymore time troubleshooting anymore.

Cool!!! I’m glad you got your versa!! (A good one) lol. I know the feeling of buying something you really wanted and it ends up not working lol.

Well, after a full 7 days I returned my first Versa for a new one from Kohls.

I still have the same exact heart rate issues. (Not reading)

The only way I can get it to read is to have it WAY tighter than anyone would like..

It's funny cause in the setup it even says to have it loose to where it can "move up and down your wrist"..

I've said before in previous posts about my Alta HR being worn loose as can be for almost a year and no HR issues... I just don't know.. Super disappointing. I wanted to love this watch.

And @Fitbit please don't even respond with your cut and paste replies. There is obviously an issue here that needs to be resolved. Would just be nice for you guys to admit it..

I find that impossible. Got my wife one and it works flawlessly.

Hi everyone, I been reading all your posts about the Hear rate sensor in your Fitbit Versa, is not working or the lights are going On and Off. Even after having a replacement for some of you; I appreciate you have brought this to my attention to investigate further.

Some of you mentioned about trying all possible troubleshooting steps like @Amanda_B21 or @SunsetRunner.

But for those who still haven't try any steps, I recommend reviewing our help article: Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device?

Also, some quick recommendations, try the device on the other wrist. Also because some accessory bands may not perform well for heart rate tracking like woven special edition wristbands, I recommend wearing a classic band for optimal results.

If the issue continues, let me know if the heart rate is not visible on the screen of the tracker or is happening at the moment to do an exercise? How often is happening or the issue is constant?

See you later, I'll be looking forward to your response.

My heart rate sensor rarely ever works. On either wrist. I have gone through your steps and still it's cutting in and out. I think I'm going to return this thing so disappointed. I was so excited for this watch too

Yeah it does suck. Do you have any tattoos on your wrist? I figured out that was the issue with mines.

I have tried all suggested items in the help yet nothing recorded in the heat rate.

This is so frustrating!

I have tattoos on both of my wrists, and you may  be correct. I can get it to record Heart rate, as long as it positioned onto bare skin, I have a butterfly on my wrist, more on the left, so I moved it over to the right a bit, and it seems to work! So the light is soooo sensitive that it thinks that a tattoo is you taking your watch off?

Yeah I think so. I didn’t realize it till somebody else mentioned it about a tattoo. Definitely sucks. Not a real high quality heart rate monitor.

This is my exact experience. A saga of customer service emails and waiting. It’s been 7 weeks, I just asked for a refund. This was, unfortunately, my first purchase of a Fitbit product. Time for an Apple Watch.

Also, the suggestion to switch to the other wrist is laughable. Should I start writing with the other hand too? It’s a watch, that’s not a solution.

Mine did the same thing after a week and a half of wearing. I am taking it back after reading so many other are having the same issues.

Mine worked for about a week and a half. Then I noticed my HR was 105 for an entire day and half, even when nearly falling asleep. Tried to reset it and now it wont read at all! After reading all these reviews, I am going to return it to Kohl's and get the Apple watch, instead.

Received second Versa. Wearing on my non-dominant hand (my preference) though HR not registering - again. An hour and half troubleshooting with customer service I was told the same thing, to switch wrists. I have a small tattoo on the wrist I prefer to wear it on, but was told sensors won't detect HR through it. I agreed to give it a try, but I'm NOT LOVING IT. I won't be giving Versa a third try should I return this one, too.

Update:

Exactly what I was told. Tattoo on my left (preferred) wrist prevents sensor from detecting HR. Ya think that would have been mentioned someplace??? Or, is it ok just dupe people into buying a new product yet to be debugged?
