Heart rate tracking when sweating

Hello,

I’ve had my Versa 3 for about a month now and have been experiencing a lot of heart rate tracking issues when working out. I was getting highly inaccurate heart rate readings when doing rigorous activity. My heart rate was staying between 85-115 bpm in cardio movements, where previously my Inspire tracked these same workouts as having a 135-165 bpm. So I know something is definitely off because I can compare similar workout styles to my old watch and see the inaccuracies. I contacted Fitbit and they had me do some restarting and resetting. After the factory reset, my next few workouts seemed to track slightly better. I was able to pinpoint the potential issue though - sweat. As I got into a workout, my heart rate would be in the cardio zones, and as I started sweating more it dropped drastically to 100 bpm. I would take it off real quick to wipe it off and when I put it back on my heart rate would shoot back up to cardio zones. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue? Since it’s a fitness watch I do not expect sweat to impact readings, as it is also designed to be water proof. It is pretty inconvenient to have to take it off to wipe it multiple times during a workout. Thoughts?

I am having the same problem and am very frustrated. This is when I want my fitbit to work best and instead it malfunctions. I contacted support and they were unhelpful. It improves momentarily if I wipe off the sweat, but within about a minute sweat accumulates again and it starts all over. Arrgg.

The inaccurate heart rate when exercising is a known issue with the watch, look at many posts on the subject.

It is interesting you correlate it with sweat, but it may be also changing the movement cycle that breaks it's previous algorithm and to start measuring afresh.

I found restarting also made it accurate for a short period. Mine will read double at times, and consistently inaccurately.

There is no resolution.

I have a similar issue when I ride my bicycle in the mornings. When I start sweating, the heart rate becomes very Ina curate. Interestingly enough, once I stop, drink and walk slowly it seems to be picking up again more accurately. Maybe it's the combination of sweat and fast movement/vibration?

It's super annoying, especially since I didn't have this issue with the Blaze which I had for seven years.
