How does "Check for Versa update" work?-Versa

What is the problem with the check for update?

Today January 15th 2021, my version of the tracker firmware is 32.71.6.19

The latest version is 32.72.1.9 and was released January 13th 2021.

With the watch on the charger [at 78%] and running the check, as follows

In the phone Fitbit App

Clicking

on profile photo [top left]

Help & support

Check for Versa update

Returns "Versa is up to date!"

Something is not working correctly.

If a user is asked to verify he has the latest version and it says he has when in fact that's not the case, does the check serve any purpose whatsoever?

Although Fitbit releases firmware in stages surely anyone clicking on the link [voluntarily or when asked to] should receive the latest version and not be told that an old version is the latest? Clearing misleading.

In fact under what conditions does the check ever actually work?

HI @EdsonFitbit  Thanks for the clarification but this incoherence should be reported to the developers.

If the information is in the public Article, that you quoted, why can't the "Check for update" consult that article and provide the correct information. Surely thats the purpose of the check, why should a user have to do it manually when there is a builtin function for that purpose?

The check function could say "you are currently on 32.71.6.19, the latest version is 32.72.1.9 but not yet available for download", or better still, initiate making it available for download, as the user is needing it, otherwise wouldn't be checking.

This is clearly idiotic the way it is, for no apparent reason. Very confusing when users are asked to check they have the latest version and the check says it is the latest, when it is not.

Can you please follow this up with the developers and get it sorted.

Thanks

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community @Guy_.

Thanks for the information provided.

To verify what is the latest version we recommend visiting this article. The option to Check for Versa Update will show that an update is available only when it is ready to be downloaded and installed on your watch. Like you mentioned the most recent firmware version for your watch is 32.72.1.9, but it is still not available for every user. You should receive the notification to update over the next days.

If you have any other question, please let us know.
