I have a Versa Lite and I am very confused about the calories. I do not wear my Fitbit when I sleep, but when I wake up the Fitbit says I burned 300-400 calories. How is it calculating my calories when I am not wearing it?

Fitbit takes your stats (gender, age, height, weight) to estimate a Base Metabolic Rate (BMR) which is that energy you use to stay alive. It then adds in activity calories to give you a total calorie count. When you don't wear the unit it continues to add BMR calories to your total. Calorie count just like steps starts at midnight.
