Inaccurate step count

Hello, I just got my Versa yesterday, and so far I’m quite disappointed that the step count is very inaccurate!  Is there going to be a fix on this, soon, or perhaps I should be exchanging this with another model, or even another brand!

I would recommend you to return it. I get thousands of ghost steps almost every day. Fitbit has just shipped me my 4th replacement. Each of my first 3 have had the same issue. If I had known they would take so long to fix it I would have returned it in the beginning. Now i am past the return window and I am stuck with it.

How far out is it? As with any wrist-worn pedometer it is not a precise science. It has to detect movement of your fitbit (i.e. your wrist) and then decide whether that movement was the result of a step or just random arm movement. Sometimes it gets it wrong and gives too many steps, other times it might miss some.

Have a look at what fitbit say about this at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1136/

If you decide to go for a different tracker then perhaps a clip-on will be better for you than a wrist-worn device as they suffer less from this problem.

Today after 2hr of work (office setting, sitting down) these are my readings so far. Two apps (Fitbit & Stepz). My phone in my pocket at all times and I wear my watch on my non-dominant hand.

-Readings-

Versa2: 3,637 steps and 2,414calories (there’s no way I burned this many calories).

Iphone XMAX “Stepz” app: 1691 steps and 101 Kcal. 1kcal=1000cal.

I have the same problem. I spend most of my working days sitting behind a desk and somehow I have over 3000 step daily. I wish!

I purchased the Versa 2 as an upgrade to a $60 smartwatch which is much accurate. I really like my Versa but it is not doing what I need.

I have a versa 2 it was sent as replacement for faulty watch. My husband has apple watch we went walking and my versa shows near double steps to his I wear it to bed to monitor sleep and when I wake up it shows 300 steps I haven’t done I had been feeling so good Thinking I been doing 6000 or 8000 steps and realise it’s probably half that
