Incomplete run map

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit versa (+ connected GPS) is correctly tracking the distance and the pace, step count etc, but the map is drawn incorrectly - it stops quite a bit earlier, though the label gives the entire distance. It is a bug in the data reported:

- the incomplete map is shown the same in the app and on the web dashboard.

- I exported the run data to a tcx file, and it shows the lat/long data freezing about 6k into my 10k run. The distance run, the altitude reported, the heart rate continue normally, but it keeps reporting the same location.

- The trackpoints go from being 1 per second to 1 every 5 seconds after the location data freezes.

It seems identical to this bug reported on the Charge 2 a year ago: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-2/GPS-map-incomplete-even-if-full-run-is-tracked/td-p/2628976

Any idea what I could do to fix this? I have the android app on a Oneplus 3t. I've enabled the keep-alive widget and the "always connected" mode, but it doesn't seem to help.

Thank you!

Hello @Mishel, awesome to have you here as a new member of the Fitbit Community! After reading your post, note that the GPS connectivity might have an impact on your map. This not necessarily mean your distance is going to be inaccurate. Keep in ind that your tracker can continue reading your distance, based on your stride length and the amount of steps.

So, my first recommendation is to update your app to the most recent version. For more details please review this post. I like to recommend a restart of the app after a new version is installed: Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

If the issue continue, please refer to this help article: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted how it goes. Hope this get you back on track.

Hi Roberto,

Thank you for the response, I'll try this out. I'll know if it's worked the next time I go for a long run.
