Incorrect information when logging exercises on Fitbit app

When Fitbit auto-recognized an exercise, it allocated a certain number of steps and calories to it. Things were fine until I realized that the type of exercise it's incorrect and re-categorized it, for example changing from Sports to Circular Training. Now, the name of the exercise was changed, but the steps and calories remained the same. To correct them, I had to delete the whole exercise, then created a new one at the exact stating and ending time found in the old exercise. Only then did Fitbit adjust the calories and steps correspondingly.

So basically the feature "recategorizing exercise" in the Exercise part of the Fitbit app is worthless as I always have to delete the incorrect exercise and overwrite it completely. Worse, manually logged exercises will not show in the "Today" part in the watch. And even worse, the incorrect data (for example the fake steps Fitbit gave me while driving) is used to evaluate my progress in Challenges. Although I tried to replace the incorrect steps with correct number, what has been entered into Challenges cannot be changed. That's why I no longer play Adventures because I kept getting false achievements for inflated steps.

It's great to see you around @tvu732.

Could you please be more specific about how are you registering your exercises? I can see here that you are manually logging them and using SmartTrack. I recommend checking the How do I track my exercise and activities with Fitbit? article to see what is the best way to track your exercise information. But my recommendation is to select the exercise directly from the Versa.

Let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

It happened when Fitbit's SmartTrack feature mistook my activity for something else, for example Circuit Training for Sports, or Driving for Outdoor Bike. I then had to manually correct the type of the exercise by choosing "Categorize Exercise" option in the recorded activity in the Fitbit app. The problem is that the steps, calories and active minutes should have changed accordingly, but they didn't.
