Incorrect reporting on phone app

Following a charge Versa stopped sending Beats per Minute and Steps per hour and sleep to the phone app.

On Sunday Versa recorded 8 of 8 steps per hour, but the app showed only the first 3 hours.

The summary for yesterday for steps yesterday was accurate.

So far today, sleep is not recorded, beats per minute are not recording (on Versa or the App) and steps per hour are accurate on the Versa but 2 hours off on the App.

@JLocke It seems like your Versa is not syncing properly. Phone model and OS? For now, please try this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions and sync.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

Additional tips if sync issues persist: If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your phone, forget them. One of them might be causing issues. Also, make sure Always Connected (on Android) and All day sync are enabled.

ETA: I merged both threads you created.

i'm experiencing similar issues. on my watch, my fitbit is showing 6 of 9 hours active, but on the app it's showing zero. it's also not recording my bpm on the app. i've tried what was suggested above to no avail.

@k8lyn when was the last sync? You might have to try it several time. ALso, what's your phone model and OS?

i've synced it 3-4 times in the past 15 minutes. it shows that it synced - and the app is showing the correct stats for my workout and my steps, although my calories do seem extremely off compared to what they usually are for a day like today. i have an iPhone XR and it's running iOS 12.1.2.

@k8lyn So it's only step hours that do not sync? If you go to Dashboard on Fitbit.com is the data missing there as well?

@JLocke Have you tried performing the procedure I described in my previous post, several times? When was the last sync - go to fitbit mobile app, tap on the Versa icon and scroll down to the sync section? What's the time stamp there?

it seems like it's only the active hours (step hours) that aren't syncing, but i also find it odd that my calories burned is much lower than previous days with the same amount of physical activity.

looking further into my HR stats - it's now syncing, but it apparently didn't recorded any HR data from 12am - 6:30pm (when i did all the restarts/syncing), which is probably why my calorie burn is different than usual.

I am having the same issue, no sleep logged and incorrect active hours. I've tried the steps listed in the post however this did nothing to assist the issue.

@k8lyn yes, HR recording is necessary for calorie burn estimation. if your HR is not being recorded properly, then calories won't get recorded either. Usually, it's enough to open the Settings app on the Versa, scroll down to Heart Rate, and toggle it OFF/ON several times with a reboot in-between.
